Project Summary: ZSD’s Leading Role in Improving tourism by Boosting Culture and Art (ITByCulture&Art)
The Serbian Community in Germany (ZSD) proudly announces the successful completion of our leading project, aimed at enhancing local tourism in rural and lesser-known destinations, concluded on October 30, 2023. In collaboration with four partner organizations from Slovenia, Turkey, the Netherlands, and with the significant participation of the European Youth Organization (EOM), we have pioneered a series of innovative activities to revolutionize the way tourism is promoted.
The core theme of the project revolved around the exploration and development of characterization methods and tools to promote local tourism. Our journey encompassed in-depth research into the local context, the creation of relatable characters, and the development of their unique ‘theatrical performance’ styles, including distinctive speech, movement, expression, and humor.
A highlight of our project is the creation of a mobile app with advanced Augmented Reality (AR) features, enabling users to virtually tour locations accompanied by character narrations. Additionally, a comprehensive platform has been established, offering tools and a guide on adapting these principles to various local environments.
Aside from these digital achievements, the project included five transnational project meetings and a joint training session in Turkey, strengthening the collaboration and skills among partners.
Through this project, ZSD has taken a significant step in using theatrical techniques and digital innovation to enhance tourism, setting new benchmarks in the promotion of hidden gems in rural and lesser-known areas.
